Advanced Moisture & ISO-Panel Thermal Diagnostics
Moisture ingress is one of the most common causes of structural deterioration, mould growth, cold-room efficiency loss, and insulation failure. Thermography allows rapid, non-intrusive detection of subsurface moisture, water pathways, saturated insulation, and cold-bridge effects that cannot be seen by visual inspection alone.
Enisave Solutions integrates FLIR thermal imaging with non-destructive moisture metering to quantify moisture levels and verify thermal anomalies. This dual-method approach provides accurate, report-ready diagnostics used by insurers, facility managers, marine engineers, and cold-storage operators.
Where Moisture Thermography is Most Effective
- Cold rooms / refrigerated ISO-panels (PUF, PIR, EPS panels)
- Blast freezers, chillers, and insulated loading bays
- Structural damp in walls, floors, and foundations
- Roof leaks, ceiling voids, and waterproofing failures
- Marine vessel insulated bulkheads / deck structures
- HVAC condensation tracing and vapour-barrier failures
Common Defects Detected
- Water-soaked insulation within ISO-panels
- Cold bridging and thermal bypass pathways
- Vapour barrier breaches and condensation pockets
- Roofing membrane failures and ceiling pooling
- Rising damp and lateral wall moisture migration
- Panel joint degradation or damaged sealants
- Energy loss due to insulation saturation
Why Thermal Imaging Works for Moisture
Moisture has a higher heat capacity than dry materials. When exposed to temperature differences, wet sections warm and cool at different rates, creating identifiable thermal patterns. In cold environments, moisture appears as a distinct cold anomaly due to evaporative cooling and conduction through saturated insulation.
Survey Conditions & Constraints
The technique requires a minimum temperature differential of 5–10 °C between interior and exterior surfaces. We advise on optimal timing prior to scheduling. Where conditions are marginal, the limitation is documented in the report.
